Last Updated: January 20, 2026

1. Overview

SetCookies ("the Extension") is a browser extension for cookie management. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and share user data.

Summary: We do not collect, transmit, or share any user data with any parties. All data remains locally on your device.

2. Data Collection

What data we collect:

  • Cookie Data: When you use the import/export features, the Extension reads cookies from websites you visit and stores them locally
  • Configuration Data: Proxy settings, subscription URLs, language preferences, and other settings you configure
  • Subscription Data: If you add subscription URLs, the Extension fetches and stores cookie configurations from those URLs

What data we DO NOT collect:

  • Personal identification information
  • Browsing history
  • Analytics or usage statistics
  • Any data for advertising purposes

3. How We Use Your Data

All collected data is used solely for the following purposes:

Data Type Purpose
Cookie Data To import, export, and manage cookies across websites as requested by you
Proxy Settings To configure network proxy for specific domains when you enable this feature
Subscription URLs To fetch remote cookie configurations that you have subscribed to
User Preferences To remember your settings (language, auto-refresh, etc.)
Encryption Password To encrypt/decrypt cookie data when you choose to use this feature (stored locally only)

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your data with any third parties.

Specifically:

  • No data is sent to our servers - We do not operate any servers
  • No analytics services - We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or any tracking services
  • No advertising networks - We do not display ads or share data with advertisers
  • No third-party SDKs - The Extension does not include any third-party code that collects data

User-Configured External Connections:

If you configure subscription URLs, the Extension will make HTTP requests to those URLs to fetch cookie data. These are URLs that you provide, and we have no control over or access to these external services. You are responsible for reviewing the privacy policies of any subscription services you use.

5. Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's Storage API:

  • Data never leaves your browser unless you explicitly export it
  • Data is stored in Chrome's secure local storage
  • Optional AES-256-GCM encryption is available for sensitive cookie data

6. Data Security
